June 28, 2010. On the day of the first North-American Monster Ball, I sadly have to report another fraudulent transaction on eBay involving a Lady Gaga recording. The listed CD is a cheap bootleg, not the original demo: eBay link.
UPDATE, June 29, 2010: This bootleg CD has now sold for no less than $290. The description of the listing had changed since it was first posted to even more clearly suggest that this CD would be the original disc... (click image below). Sadly, a fellow Lady Gaga fan is now conned. Perhaps s/he will see this notice in which case a file can be opened with eBay.

Collectors Corner Update

June 2010. A few of the recent additions of the GagaFrontRow music collection, with some special observations on counterfeits.

The Fame Monster - Limited Edition USB Drive. Not as collectable as the USB of The Fame, but the only legal way to rip Gaga's head off.
The Fame - US counterfeit. This counterfeit can be detected by its less than stellar printing quality, the slightly differing title font, and the different seal wrapping. Cheap and probably made in China in 2010.
The Remix - EP 'clean' Hong Kong counterfeit. Possibly the most difficult to detect counterfeit, this CD one is very close to the original, with only a minor color difference in the disc and lacking an insert. Cheap and probably made in China.
The Remix - EP Japan with a misspelled title ('Porker Face') on the back cover. The same misspelling is also present in the code imbedded in the disc of all copies of the Japanese edition and also appears in an advertisement for the EP. However, the printing of this CD is not of professional quality, so it is a counterfeit rather than an early edition of the official release with misspelling.

Record Collector: Lady Gaga

The April 2010 issue of Record Collector has a special on Lady Gaga that reviews collectable Lady Gaga CDs, including various items from the GagaFrontRow collection. Though the ranking and price of some items can be debated, the feature provides a very useful overview for the Gaga music collector.

eBay Alert!

June 17, 2010. A bootleg copy of the "Red and Blue" CD sold on eBay for more than $300! This CD is not the original release from 2006, so I hope that the buyer might see this notice and that other fans know as well.
This bootleg of the Red and Blue CD was featured on this site some time ago. It has a picture on the disc and a note on the back of the CD that reads "2006 Interscope records". This is obviously bogus, because Lady Gaga was not signed to Interscope back then.

Midnight Sonic (musicians track mp3)

Audio download of Lady Gaga at the Summer Sonic festival in Japan, August 8, 2009. This is the audio as heard by the musicians on stage, containing a click trick and a countdown to assure the live music is in sync with the backing track. These tracks were used during the World Tour Summer 2009, when Lady Gaga performed with a 4-piece band (not during the Fame Ball Tour Spring 2009, when she performed with DJ Space Cowboy).

The Chair (VMAs 2009)

The latest acquisition to the GagaFrontRow collection is the wheelchair from Lady Gaga's performance of Paparazzi at the MTV Video Music Awards in Radio City Music Hall, New York City, September 13, 2009. Referenced in the online media as 'bejewelled' and 'lily-white', the chair has been encrusted with faux-crystal rhinestones and was painted white shortly before the show with not enough time for the paint to dry so that it had to be covered in cellophane. A little beat up, the chair is now kept safely...
